Welcome to our family

Our History

In the Spring semester of 2017, Texas Sunshines was founded by Ingrid Earls, Alyx Tighe, and Dana Lucas. Together, they created a group of diverse, likeminded young women to support and make lasting memories with. Our founding class was made up of eleven women, each of which has left a lasting legacy with Texas Sunshines.

Our Mission

Our Mission as Texas Sunshines is to continuously promote our three pillars of sisterhood, spirit and service while simultaneously fostering lifelong friendships and memories for our Sunshines.

sisterhood

Our organization was created to give UT students the opportunity to find their home away from home, and to encourage lifelong friendships, a thriving social life and strong academic skills.

Our social co-chairs continuously curate social events to achieve all of these goals, with events ranging from mixers to study nights.

spirit

As Texas Sunshines we make sure to give our members an experience that fully integrates them within the Longhorn community. This means highlighting the wide variety of events offered by UT.

From cheering on Texas Athletics to supporting Texas Arts, Texas Sunshines wear our Longhorn title with pride.

service

Through our philanthropic endeavors, we, as Texas Sunshines and proud members of the UT community, strive to represent the university's motto of "What Starts Here Changes the World".

For our philanthropy, we have partnered with the Sexual Violence Prevention Association (SVPA) to help fight human trafficking.
